Designing communications networks is like solving a crossword puzzle. The solution is arrived at methodically. All the clues are usually present. And there is often more than one answer to any particular clue - although, only one of those answers is the correct one. The incorrect answer to one clue often has a domino affect throughout the puzzle meaning that the correct overall solution is not obtained. Often a single incorrect answer will mean hours of backtracking in an attempt to rectify one simple error.
